The following report was written by Gemini AI and reviewed by an editor at Sypnotix.

PALO ALTO, CA — Tesla, Inc. officially announced today that it will discontinue production of its longest-running flagship vehicles, the Model S sedan and Model X SUV. The decision, described by CEO Elon Musk as an "honorable discharge" for the aging pioneers, marks the end of an era for the vehicles that defined the modern electric vehicle revolution.

Pivoting to a "Physical AI" Company

During Tesla’s Q4 2025 earnings call, the company confirmed that production of the Model S and Model X at the Fremont, California facility will wind down through the second quarter of 2026. This strategic shift follows a year in which automotive revenues fell by 11%, prompting the company to reallocate resources toward high-growth frontiers: autonomous Robotaxis and the Optimus humanoid robot.

The Fremont production lines currently dedicated to the Model S and X will be completely overhauled. Tesla plans to convert the space into a high-volume manufacturing hub for Optimus Gen 3, with an ambitious target of producing one million units annually.

"The Model S and X were instrumental in proving that electric cars could be superior to gasoline alternatives," said Elon Musk. "But as we transition from a hardware-centric business to a physical AI company, we must focus our engineering talent on the future of autonomy. It is time to bring these programs to an end."

The Legacy of the Flagships

The Model S, launched in 2012, was the first mass-appeal luxury EV and served as the foundation for Tesla’s global dominance. It was followed in 2015 by the Model X, famous for its "Falcon Wing" doors and high-performance SUV capabilities.

Despite their historical significance, sales for both models have plateaued in recent years. In 2025, the Model S and X combined accounted for less than 2% of Tesla's total deliveries, vastly eclipsed by the high-volume Model 3 and Model Y.

What This Means for Customers

Final Orders: Tesla is still accepting orders for the remaining inventory of Model S and Model X. Customers interested in these legacy models are encouraged to place orders before the production window closes in Q2 2026.

Continued Support: Tesla confirmed it will continue to provide service, software updates, and Supercharger access for all existing Model S and X vehicles for the duration of their lifespan.

Product Roadmap: With the departure of the S and X, Tesla’s automotive lineup will focus on the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck, alongside the anticipated 2026 debut of the Cybercab and the next-generation Roadster.

Tesla retires Model S and Model X

The top announcements from CES 2026

Here’s some of the big trends coming out of CES 2026!

<figure class="

The new lineup, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, promises to redefine the user experience with advancements in display technology, processing power, and battery life.

A New Contender: The iPhone 17 Air

The most notable addition to the family is the all-new iPhone 17 Air, a device that lives up to its name by becoming the thinnest smartphone Apple has ever produced, at a mere 5.6mm thick. The iPhone 17 Air features a 6.5-inch display with ProMotion support and is powered by the new A19 processor. To achieve its ultra-slim profile, the iPhone 17 Air relies solely on eSIM technology, eliminating the physical SIM card slot. It sports a single 48MP rear camera and is positioned as a premium mid-tier option, starting at $999.

Pro Models Get a Redesign and Performance Boost

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models have also received a significant overhaul. Both devices feature a redesigned rear camera system with a horizontal camera bar that spans the entire top of the device. In a surprising move, Apple has switched the Pro models from titanium to a lighter and more heat-dissipating aluminum frame, which is expected to address overheating issues. The Pro models are equipped with the new A19 Pro chipset and 12GB of RAM, providing a substantial performance leap. Camera improvements are a major focus, with the Pro models featuring a triple 48MP camera setup and an impressive 8x optical telephoto lens. The iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max begins at $1,199.

Upgrades for the Standard iPhone 17

The base model iPhone 17 also received meaningful upgrades. It now features a slightly larger 6.3-inch display and, for the first time in a standard iPhone, includes ProMotion display technology for a smoother experience. price starting under $30k.

The following report on new Nissan Leaf was written by Gemini AI and reviewed by an editor at Sypnotix.

In a dramatic shift for one of the world's most recognizable electric vehicles, Nissan has officially launched the third generation of its Leaf, transforming the pioneering hatchback into a sleek, affordable crossover SUV. The all-new 2026 Nissan Leaf, with a starting MSRP of under $30,000 for its S+ trim, is poised to shake up the entry-level EV market, offering a compelling blend of style, technology, and—most importantly—range.

The new Leaf represents a complete reinvention, built from the ground up on Nissan's new AmpR Medium platform. Gone is the quirky hatchback design, replaced by a modern crossover silhouette with a streamlined roofline and flush door handles. This move not only aligns the Leaf with current consumer trends but also improves its aerodynamics, contributing to its impressive efficiency.

Perhaps the most significant news for prospective buyers is the substantial increase in range. The S+ trim, powered by a liquid-cooled 75 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, boasts an EPA-estimated range of up to 303 miles. This marks a dramatic improvement from the previous generation and puts the new Leaf in direct competition with more expensive EVs on the market.

Charging has also been a major focus of the redesign. The 2026 Leaf now comes standard with a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing seamless access to Tesla's Supercharger network. This, combined with the ability to fast-charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 35 minutes, makes the new Leaf a much more viable option for road trips and long-distance travel.

Inside the cabin, Nissan has brought the Leaf into the modern era. Higher trims feature a striking dual-screen setup with a 14.3-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Standard on all models are a suite of advanced safety features with Nissan's Safety Shield 360 and the ProPILOT Assist driver assistance system.

While the exact pricing for the entry-level S trim will be announced at a later date, the starting price of the S+ trim at $29,990 (MSRP) positions the Leaf as the most affordable new EV currently on sale in the United States. This aggressive pricing strategy makes the new Leaf even cheaper than the original model was when it launched in 2011, a remarkable feat given the significant upgrades in technology, range, and design.

The 2026 Nissan Leaf is scheduled to begin arriving at U.S. dealerships this fall, and with its winning combination of affordability, a new design, and enhanced performance, it is set to redefine what consumers can expect from an entry-level electric vehicle.

Nissan prices the all-new 2026 Leaf for $30k

Tesla launches Model Y L, a new six-seater variant

The new slightly larger 6-seater Tesla Model Y L is now officially

The following report on the Chinese launch of the Tesla Model yL was written by Gemini AI and reviewed by an editor at Sypnotix.

Tesla has officially unveiled a new variant of its wildly popular crossover, the Model Y L, aimed at expanding its appeal with a new, six-seat configuration and extended wheelbase. The launch, which took place in China, introduces a new dimension of versatility to the Model Y lineup, a car that has consistently been a global best-seller.

The new Model Y L builds on the recent "Juniper" refresh of the standard Model Y, which brought significant updates to the exterior and interior, including a redesigned front and rear fascia and a quieter cabin with improved materials. The Model Y L, however, stands apart with its new dimensions, featuring a longer wheelbase and overall length, as well as a slightly taller profile. This change is specifically to accommodate a new seating layout that forgoes the traditional bench seat in the second row for two individual "Captain's Chairs" with powered armrests. The six-seat layout offers a more premium and comfortable experience for passengers, providing a new option for those seeking more space and flexibility than the existing five- or seven-seat configurations.

Deliveries of the Model Y L are set to begin in China in September 2025. While the initial launch is focused on the Chinese market, it is expected to gauge international demand and potentially pave the way for a wider rollout in the future.

The new Model Y L is priced at approximately $47,000 USD (339,000 Chinese Yuan) and comes with the features of the refreshed Model Y, including a new rear-seat infotainment screen and the updated suspension for a smoother ride. The vehicle also boasts an expansive cargo capacity of up to 2,539 liters with the second and third rows folded down.

This new variant further cements Tesla's strategy of incremental, yet significant, improvements to its most popular models. The release of the Model Y L, alongside the recent Model Y "Juniper" refresh, demonstrates Tesla's commitment to refining its core product line and maintaining its competitive edge in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
